Best practice for product listings
1. Choosing a Product Title
The product title must be accurate, concise, and include key information such as product type, material, key features, characteristics, and quantity. For example: "Little Lamb valley series pure cotton white table cloth (150cmx150cm), pack of 2" is a better title than "white table cloth".
When filling out product title, sellers must avoid the following:
- •Marketing material, promotions, or any other information that is not descriptive of the product itself (for example, "x% off")
- •A seller URL, or seller name
- •Branding or references to "TikTok" (without TikTok's prior authorization), or other e-commerce platforms or websites.
- •Bad data such as symbols or special characters.
2. Product Description & Specifications
Sellers are responsible for ensuring that the product description contains all product information required by applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, product safety information, specifications, and warnings.
Product Description Guidelines:
- •Describe the main characteristics of the products.
- •No less than 30 words.
- •Product details are written based on the official language supported by TikTok Shop and the destination market.
- •Complete list of freebies and accessories to be included as part of the listing. For example, if a wireless speaker is sold together with a USB charger, each item must be listed.
- •Product's package "weight and dimensions" must be accurately stated.
- •For additional "selling attributes (SKU information)," sellers are required to create the corresponding. For example: Information on color, size, pattern, and other key attributes may be required for certain types of products.
- For "product pricing," sellers must avoid bad practices that may harm customer trust. For example: Setting abnormal product prices that are significantly higher than recent prices offered will be considered a breach of TikTok Shop Product Listing Guidelines and may result in seller enforcement action.
3. Multiple Products
For listing multiple products, sellers must take note of the following:
- •Only one (1) product may be included within one detail page. Listing multiple products within one single detail page is prohibited.
- •Each product may only have one product listing. Duplicate product listings are not allowed.
- •Products with variations like different sizes, colors, flavors, etc., should be included within the one product listing. For example, T-shirts that come in different sizes and colors should be displayed on one detail page, which allows customers to select the preferred color and size on the same page. Listing the same T-shirt in 4 different colors as 4 different products is not allowed.
4. Choosing a Product Category
Choosing an incorrect product category will be considered as a breach of TikTok Shop Product Listing Guidelines and may result in enforcement action.
5. Brands and Intellectual Property (IP)
Sellers may include "brand names" on their product listing, only when they have the necessary authorization from the brand owners or are otherwise permitted to do so by applicable law. To avoid IP infringement scenarios, sellers may visit TikTok Shop Intellectual Property Policy.
6. Image and videos
Product images and videos must accurately represent the product that is listed for sale. Sellers must take note of the following product images and videos technical requirements:
- The product image background must be "pure white" and "must not contain pixelated blocks, text, or watermarks other than product branding or logos."
- Images must be in color. Black-and-white images are not acceptable.
- Each image must be at least "800 x 800 pixels."
- Sellers may upload up to 9 square images. Then, they may select one image to be the main product image.
- The main product image must show the front physical view of the product. The additional images must show the side, back, and other details of the product, including product accessories (if any).
- Multiple images displaying the same angle of the product are not allowed.
- Sellers may upload up to 1 video for each product listing, which must not exceed 5MB.
